my stepdad sent a picture of the crane from the road and asked if that was mine. wrong job completely but i was weirdly fired up that he was looking. called him to explain which building and he said he knew i would give him the whole tour, shouldve packed lunch. i told him he wouldnt survive the climb anyway. easy conversation, football after that, nothing big. then he said be careful up there and i didnt have a joke ready for half a second. told him im always careful. kept the picture even though its the wrong damn crane

got home and sat on the carpet to watch the dragon eat because apparently i own a very small dude who needs an audience. legs stretched out and my back finally stopped feeling folded into the cab seat, didnt even know i was holding my shoulders up till i put my elbows on my knees. he missed a piece of food right in front of his face then looked at me like it was a positioning issue lol. stayed there longer than i meant to and one foot went numb. getting off the floor sounded like somebody opening an old screen door, thirty years old and already supplying my own sound effects

i want to move the dragons tank off the dresser so i can actually open the top drawer without doing some whole inspection first. found a stand online and immediately started looking at bigger tanks too, which is how a fifty dollar problem becomes a truck payment. measured the wall this time. wild concept. the cheap stand fits but leaves the lamp cord right where i walk past, and the other corner gets blasted by the window. im drawing this apartment on a pizza box like its a site plan. could move the dresser instead but then where does all the crap on the dresser go lol
