wifey, my girlfriend, showed one of her classmates the picture of my weld and said i made it, like it was an actual thing to show somebody not just some metal on my phone. the girl didnt really know what she was looking at and said cool, but i was still happy about it the whole drive home. i keep checking that picture myself so hearing somebody else bring it up was different. told my cousin and he said bro its still your lock screen we know. fair lol. didnt tell him the nice part was how she said it, no explanation about me being a student or working nights, just this is what he does

got a whole afternoon off and played basketball with my cousins till i was sweating through the back of my shirt, not even a proper game at first just taking turns shooting and talking trash. my ankle was alright but i could feel the legs getting slow when the younger ones wanted full court, told them i was saving energy for important stuff like dinner. hands felt normal holding the ball which i kept noticing more than usual after the plant shifts. sat on the floor by the bench afterwards and drank water, hungry enough to eat whatever was at home. mom had rice ready and i ate two plates before anybody asked if we won

my little brother asked how i can remember what to do in the welding lab when i forget half the stuff in the book, and i didnt have a good answer except you can see it when youre doing it. been thinking maybe i could draw the parts beside the notes instead of reading the same page five times and getting mad at the page. not fancy drawings, just enough that i know which bit the sentence means. girlfriend usually explains it out loud and that helps too but she has her own studying, cant make her read every chapter twice. tried one picture tonight, it looks like a bent shopping cart but i know what its meant to be
