Emotion
A coworker made a joke about me checking things twice and I didn't find it funny. Usually I can let that pass. Today he kept going in front of a new guy, making it sound like I was scared of my own job, and I felt hot before I'd said anything. I told him the check was happening whether he liked the performance or not. We worked fine after that. I'm still annoyed, and I don't feel the need to turn it into a story where I learn to take a joke. I have been afraid up there. He can know that if he wants. It doesn't make doing the job carefully something I owe an apology for.
Mind
My fiancée and I are trying to work out where we'd put a table in the apartment we looked at. I kept measuring the room in my head and she kept describing who would be sitting there, which turned out to be the part I'd missed. At my parents' place the table is never only for the people who live in the building. I want that too, but fifteen chairs aren't going into this kitchen. We drew the room on the back of an envelope and tried a smaller table that could open out. No decision yet. I liked talking about an ordinary meal there more than choosing anything for the wedding. The meal would happen again the next day.
Body
At the climbing gym I could feel the difference between holding a position and hanging on because I hadn't decided what came next. The second one filled my forearms fast. I came down instead of trying the same move tired, sat with my hands open and waited for the tightness to ease. Chalk sat in the lines of my palms. My right shoulder was quiet today, and I wanted to keep it that way. On the easier climb afterward I moved more slowly and could feel my feet taking some of the work. By the time I left, my arms were used but not shaking. Ate at my parents' place and let my little brother carry the heavy pot to the table for once.
