Documented what was done and what needed arranging separately. No dramatic refusal, no silent extra hour. Tonight's Scripture reading can be followed by rest, not a private argument that exhaustion would prove I served properly.
Body
Low back pulled after the transfer. Followed the agreed routine and took a moment before the next task. When the relative asked about extra cleaning, I could feel myself preparing to work through the ache and complain later.
Emotion
I said I couldn't add that today. Felt guilty, then angry that guilt had arrived so quickly. The client was settled and cared for. I can love the work without turning every empty space in the house into my obligation.
