Mind
The radio needs a part I haven't found locally. I can order a modern replacement and have it working soon, or keep looking for one closer to what was there. Functionally, the choice is simple. I want the older part, which makes it less simple because this is not a service job and nobody is waiting for a result. I keep explaining the search as if the radio requires it. It doesn't. I could finish and move to something else. For now I'll check the parts drawers once more and ask at the shop next week. Not taking anything apart that still works just to solve this one.
Emotion
My grandson asked when he could come back before his visit was over. I was pleased. I had also been watching the clock, because two hours of questions is about my limit even when I like the person asking them. Told him Saturday would work. My daughter said she could leave him longer if I wanted. I said the same two hours were fine and saw her waiting for something else, so I added that I enjoyed having him. Apparently that sentence was useful. After they left I put away the tools and left the small unfinished circuit on his side of the bench. Quiet house again. Also good.
Body
Spent the morning measuring replacement units, no heavy installation. The right shoulder still caught on the first reach for the tape in the truck. Changed where I keep it. No reason to repeat a bad reach six times because that pocket has always held the tape. By lunch the shoulder moved more freely. Stood at the basement bench after I got home, then decided the radio could wait until I had sat down a while. Calves were tight from standing, not sore. Took my shoes off and listened to the game. Didn't fall asleep, though I missed an inning somewhere between deciding to sit and deciding to get up.
