Body
I tried on a shirt for a family birthday and spent more time pulling it away from my stomach than actually looking at it, as if the mirror would agree to show the fabric only, no body included please. Then my nephew asked me to carry him and I picked him up without thinking, shirt stretching everywhere, and he settled on my hip like he had paid for that seat. I could feel the heat of his legs through the cloth and my own back starting its little complaint. Put him down, tried the next size, could breathe properly. Still wanted the first shirt though because the colour was so good, nakakainis.
Emotion
Mama stayed on the video call after everyone finished eating and asked what I had watched lately, not about tuition or the electricity, just a show. I nearly gave her the quick funny summary I use when she looks tired, but we ended up arguing about a contestant for twenty minutes hahaha. I felt happy in a slightly embarrassing way, like I had been waiting to be asked something that wasn't useful. Then she had to go because someone was calling her in Dubai and I got tampo at the screen, which is unfair, she cannot control every minute there. I sent her the clip anyway. My argument was correct, for the record.
Mind
The children decided a cardboard box was a bus and I kept offering destinations, zoo, beach, moon, very creative teacher here, while they kept saying market. I was already planning a little space story but they wanted to buy eggs and ride home with their mothers. Now I'm thinking about all the activities I prepare to make an ordinary morning exciting, when their favourite part is copying the ordinary things adults get to do. Not cancelling the moon, excuse me, I cut out those stars myself. Maybe the bus can go to the market first. I need eighteen imaginary eggs and a driver who doesn't eat the tickets.
