Mind
The book I am reading describes a city department as badly run, then gives most of its evidence from the men sent to reorganise it. They may have been right. They also had a reason to make the earlier arrangement look worse. I marked the source note to check later. This is the part of history I still find interesting, the difference between a thing happening and someone needing to describe it in a particular way. There may be staff records that tell another part. I do not need to write anything about it. I would like to see the records. The bus reached my stop before I finished the chapter, so the book is still open on the table.
Body
My back was stiff when I got up. It usually is for the first part of the morning. Bending to put on my shoes took longer than I wanted. By the time the breakfast line opened I was moving normally, though I could still feel it when I reached across the table. I kept the full pans close when moving them. The heat from the lids made my forearms damp and then the wash water felt cool even though it was warm. At home I changed my shirt and sat down for twenty minutes before making food. Getting up again was easier than getting out of bed. I am tired now, mostly in my legs. Nothing else to report about it.
Emotion
My son said he would be home for dinner and was late. I checked my phone several times. There was no message, and I began thinking about the journey rather than eating. He arrived with groceries and said the bus had been delayed. I told him to send a message next time. He said he had not realised I was waiting. I had left his food covered on the stove, so I suppose I was. The irritation went quickly once he was in the kitchen. We ate and watched television. I did not ask much about his day because I had already asked enough questions at the door. I was relieved. That is the accurate word for it.
