Body
I sat outside after filling the bird feeders and took my hearing aids out, mostly because the wind was making an irritating rustle through them. Could still hear a crow well enough. The sun reached my shins before the rest of me and I stayed put until my coffee was cold, with that pleasant heavy feeling in my legs after walking to the far feeder. Getting back out of the low chair was less pleasant. Had to plant both feet and push, and my right thumb objected to its share of the work. Next time I'll take the straight-backed chair out. I like sitting in the sun; I don't need an exercise getting out of it.
Mind
My daughter sent a picture of a bird at her place in Texas and asked me what it was. The photo is mostly fence, which does narrow it down to something that can sit on a fence. I enlarged it until all I had were colored squares, then got the bird book out because there was something about the head that didn't fit my first guess. Now I'm wondering whether the light has made an ordinary bird look unusual. She says the grandson thinks it's a hawk. He has confidence, I'll give him that. I've asked for another picture, preferably one that includes the actual bird, before I attach my name to an answer.
Emotion
Won at euchre Tuesday and apparently I was a little too pleased with myself, according to a woman who announced her own win to the whole room last week. I enjoyed it twice as much after that. My husband was still awake when I got home, so I told him the hand that did it while I took my shoes off. He said he'd heard this story before. Not this particular victory he hadn't. It's nice being accused of showing off about something that has nothing to do with how well I keep the house running. I left the score slip on the kitchen table. Accidentally, of course.
