Mind
I've added up the parts for the pinball machine I might keep, leaving out a few little purchases that apparently became invisible when I decided I liked it. I hear people at the tables do this with their losses and can spot it halfway through the sentence. My own arithmetic has better camouflage. It's not going to pay me back for the hours, even if I sell it, and maybe that doesn't have to be the point. But I should at least know the actual number before I call it a bargain. Found two more receipts in the truck. They did not improve the case. Good thing the thing lights up nicely.
Body
Warmed my hands before working on the pinball machine and then got so caught up in a small adjustment that I stood in the same spot for nearly an hour. At the casino I remember to shift my weight. In my own garage, apparently the rules don't apply. Sat down on the stool to try the flippers and felt the pressure leave my heels, a relief I should have arranged earlier. The machine finally gave me a decent game. My hands moved without much stiffness once I quit trying to fix something between every ball. Lost the last one cheaply. The machine can be fully restored and still have no manners.
Emotion
My daughter called while I was putting groceries away and said she had a few minutes before heading out. We didn't get into anything important, just the price of something she'd bought and a neighbor's dog. I liked hearing her laugh with someone in the room at her end. Then she had to go, and I wanted those few minutes to have been longer. Can't reasonably want her to have a good full life and be available whenever my hours line up with hers, but reason doesn't get every vote. Finished putting the groceries away. Found I'd put the cereal in the fridge while we were talking. She'll enjoy that next Sunday.
