Mind
My sister asked which photos from a family lunch she should print and I kept choosing the ones where the table looked best. Perfect plates, everyone seated, nobody's purse in the shot. Then she picked one where Dad is halfway out of his chair laughing and Abuela is reaching across somebody for a tortilla. Honestly that one feels more like being there, but I still want to crop the cooler out. At work I'm paid to make the room look like nothing messy ever happened. Maybe that's why I keep editing our lunch into a brochure. I sent her both choices and she chose the cooler. Artistic differences.
Emotion
The nurse texted that he'd picked a place for us to eat and checked it would still be open after my shift. Girl. Somebody looked up hours FOR ME. I got so excited I immediately started checking parking and whether we needed a reservation, as if he'd sent me an event brief. He said he'd handled it. I don't quite know what to do with that except be happy and slightly suspicious that I'm making three texts into a whole relationship. Told my roommate and he said try eating dinner before planning the wedding. Rude but fair. I'm already more worried about being late than about whether he'll like the outfit.
Body
Tried on my event pants after actually eating dinner instead of before and wow, the waistband has NOTES. Standing in front of the mirror is fine, bending to pick up a charger is apparently outside the approved use. I sat on the bed in them for ten minutes because I'm not discovering this again halfway through a ballroom shift. My thighs weren't even the issue for once, it was that little pressure across my stomach every time I leaned forward. Changed into shorts and physically sighed. Still love the pants. Hate that looking good and being able to sit down keep presenting themselves as separate purchases.
