Body
It was warm in the greenhouse by mid-morning and I had damp cuffs from watering, so half of me felt summery and the other half seemed to have been left in a puddle. Rolled my sleeves higher and stood near the open door for a minute, lovely cool air on my forearms. I like the feeling of moving about when I'm warm, but once I stopped I realised how thirsty I was. Had a proper drink instead of my usual two mouthfuls on the way past. By home time my legs had that comfortable worked feeling and I was looking forward to sitting down. The cat took my place before I'd even got my shoes off. He had apparently had a tiring day as well.
Mind
Trying to work out whether a little greenhouse would fit at the back without blocking the path we actually use. In the catalogue it sits in acres of lovely empty garden, very helpful when ours contains a bin and a chair with a broken slat. My partner put four sticks down to mark the corners and it looked much smaller than I'd imagined, until I tried carrying a tray through the pretend door. Now I'm wondering if fewer shelves would be better than squeezing everything in. I want somewhere pleasant to pot things, not another cupboard I have to climb into. We've left the sticks there for now. The cat walked straight through the wall, so his assessment wasn't much use.
Emotion
My sister borrowed twenty pounds and forgot to mention it when we met for choir. I wasn't desperate for it back that minute, but I did feel a bit fed up when she talked about something she'd bought. Then I got annoyed with myself for quietly counting her money while she was telling me a perfectly ordinary story. I asked her afterward and she said she'd forgotten, looked genuinely sorry, and sent it over while we were standing there. So that was that. Much less interesting than the argument I had briefly started having in my head. We walked to the tram together and sang the bit we'd both got wrong, badly enough that somebody smiled. Fine evening in the end.
