One guy in the fantasy league found a wording issue in the trade rules and is acting like he discovered buried treasure. I wrote those rules, so I've spent longer checking his argument than the actual trade deserves. He is technically right if you read one sentence by itself. Read the next paragraph and the intention is obvious, except I tell customers all day that intention doesn't change what they signed. Really wish I hadn't said that in the group chat last week. I can propose new wording for next season, but that still leaves this trade. Eleven pages of rules and we're now arguing about the word before. Football remains a relaxing hobby.

adik minta diajarin hitungan listrik buat tugas sekolah dan aku kira gampang, ternyata waktu baca soalnya malah bingung kata-katanya. kalau lihat barangnya aku tahu maksudnya, di buku semuanya huruf sama angka, terus adik nunggu aku jawab. akhirnya kubaca pelan lagi dan gambar dulu di kertas, bukan langsung nebak biar kelihatan pintar. baru ketemu bagian mana yang ditanya. dia bilang gurunya juga gambar begitu, lumayan gak malu-malu amat. yang bikin aku mikir sekarang kenapa penjelasan pendek di soal bisa lebih susah daripada orang ngomel panjang di rumahnya, padahal dua-duanya cuma minta aku ngerti masalahnya

Salí con los perros después de una mañana de escritos y el viento me dio en la cara con tanta tierra que tuve que cerrar los ojos un momento. Había pasado horas mirando la pantalla desde muy cerca; afuera todo parecía demasiado claro, hasta el alambre de la tranquera. Caminé sin apuro, dejando que tiraran un poco al principio, y para cuando llegamos al lote ya no tenía esa presión detrás de los ojos. Después empezó la picazón en la nariz, porque mi cuerpo no puede disfrutar del campo sin presentar alguna observación. Volví estornudando, pero con las piernas livianas y bastante hambre. El mate solo no había sido un almuerzo.

Old kelpie actually chased the ball twice this arvo. Usually watches it land then looks back at me like I've lost something. Boy was cheering so loud she came straight back to him instead, dropped it on his feet. Made me pretty happy seeing that, both of them pleased with the same muddy ball. I threw a shorter one after and she left it there. Fair enough. Son reckoned she was being naughty, I said she's old mate, let her sit with us. We stayed outside till tea was ready and he kept one hand on her back, which she seemed to like. Good arvo, didn't get lawn done.

Ma mère m'a dit au téléphone qu'elle avait croisé une ancienne voisine, celle qui me gardait après l'école, et qu'elles avaient parlé de moi. J'ai demandé quoi avec un ton de contrôle qui n'avait aucune raison d'être. Rien de gênant, apparemment. La voisine se rappelait mes oiseaux dessinés sur des feuilles de récupération. Ça m'a émue plus que je ne l'aurais voulu, puis j'ai été agacée que ma mère le remarque et propose aussitôt que je rentre un week-end. Je peux avoir envie de revoir cette femme sans remettre mon installation ici en discussion. Personne ne l'avait remise en discussion, d'ailleurs, à part moi dans ma tête.

Saw a used aquarium at the flea market and spent the drive home deciding where it would go. Then remembered the corner is full of boxes and that water weighs quite a lot, so the little table I had in mind is not a plan. I didn't buy it, which is worth mentioning. I've got a sketch now with the filter at one end and plants at the other, and halfway through drawing it I started looking up lights instead of measuring the space. Same old. The interesting part is working out how the whole thing stays balanced; the less interesting part is moving a box of cables I haven't opened in two years. I moved one. Found the tape measure.

Une petite cliente refusait de marcher avec ses chaussures neuves, elle restait collée à sa mère. Je lui ai proposé de venir regarder son pied dans le miroir au bout du rayon, sans lui demander de faire le tour du magasin. Elle a fini par avancer, puis revenir toute seule avec un sourire immense. J'étais contente pour elle, et sa mère aussi, visiblement soulagée. Ces dix minutes-là me plaisent toujours autant, même après toutes ces années. La petite m'a fait au revoir avec la main en partant. Ensuite il a fallu ranger six boîtes et répondre au téléphone, mais je gardais ce sourire en tête. Merci Seigneur pour cette joie toute simple.

a mom on the ward thanked everybody this morning except me, which is such a stupid thing to be bothered about when her kid finally gets to go home. i had spent half the night helping her get comfortable enough to sleep, and i guess i wanted her to remember that. i was nice when they left, i really was, but then another nurse asked if i was okay and i nearly cried over absolutely nothing. or not nothing, i dont know. my boyfriend made dinner before i got home and i felt so grateful i didn't even want to talk about the hospital. i just wanted to eat while somebody else got the plates.

طلبت ابنتي أن أبحث عن وصفة كانت أم الأولاد قد أملتها عليّ قديمًا، واثقةً أن كل شيء موجود في كشاكيل أبيها. وجدت الصفحة، لكنني كتبت مقدار الدقيق ثم تركت بقية المقادير بلا أرقام، كأن صاحبة الوصفة ستبقى واقفة بجانب من يقرأها إلى الأبد. حاولت استرجاع حركة يدها وهي تضيف الماء، ولم أصل إلى مقدار ينفع في المطبخ. أعطيت ابنتي الورقة كما هي، فقالت إنها ستجرب كمية صغيرة. بقيت أفكر في الفرق بين ما نكتبه لنفهمه وحدنا وما نكتبه لينفع غيرنا. عندي صفحات كثيرة من النوع الأول، وربما تحتاج شرحًا أكثر مما كنت أحسب، حتى الوصفة البسيطة منها.

店でずっと履いてた靴を脱いだら、足の甲にひもの跡がくっきり。朝急いで結んだままで、昼にちょっとゆるめようと思ったことだけ覚えてる、実行どこいった。靴下も脱いで足の指を広げたらめっちゃ気持ちよくて、そのまま廊下に座ってたらおばあちゃんが通れへんって笑ってた。ふくらはぎは張ってるけど、足首回した時の引っかかりは今日は少ない。晩ご飯食べたあと体操しようと思ってたのに、先に床で伸ばしてたら眠くなってきた。お腹はすいてるから寝るわけにはいかん、立ち上がったら今度は足が軽かった。
