En el pádel nos dio por jugar de verdad un rato, cosa rarísima, y llegué a casa con las piernas cansadas pero la cabeza bastante despejada. Estar de pie en la tienda ocho horas no se parece nada a correr detrás de una pelota que encima siempre va al lado contrario del que espero. Me duché y el agua en los hombros me dejó medio dormida antes de llegar al sofá. La niña quería que me sentara en el suelo con ella y le dije que si bajaba me tenía que subir con una grúa. Al final acabamos las dos encima de la alfombra, mirando a Pepa andar. La tortuga es más de mi ritmo, desde luego, nunca he tenido que perseguirla con una pala.

Our dishy did an impression of me calling the grill and the whole kitchen cracked up. First thought was cheeky little shit, second thought was that he'd got the voice bang on. I laughed too, then kept thinking about how angry I sounded even when he was only pretending to be me asking for plates. Told him he'd missed the bit where I'm charming. More laughing. Fine. Mostly fine. On the way home I caught myself saying the same line in the car to hear it, which is fairly pathetic even for me. The kid asked if I was cross when I came in. I wasn't. Just didn't want her doing the impression as well.

i want to move the dragons tank off the dresser so i can actually open the top drawer without doing some whole inspection first. found a stand online and immediately started looking at bigger tanks too, which is how a fifty dollar problem becomes a truck payment. measured the wall this time. wild concept. the cheap stand fits but leaves the lamp cord right where i walk past, and the other corner gets blasted by the window. im drawing this apartment on a pizza box like its a site plan. could move the dresser instead but then where does all the crap on the dresser go lol

The cafe owner asked whether staying open an extra hour would be worth it. I can calculate what that hour has to bring in, but the till total does not tell me which customers would simply move their usual order later. That is the part I keep circling. If I use all the evening sales as new business, the answer looks much better than it should. I have asked him to record the last hour separately for a week and note how many tables stay, nothing elaborate. He replied with three voice messages about the cafe down the road. I have listened twice. Useful background, but I still do not have his staff cost for that hour.

آج پوتے کے ساتھ صحن میں بیٹھ کر مٹر چھیلے تو وقت کا اندازہ نہیں رہا۔ اٹھنے لگا تو دایاں گھٹنا سیدھا ہونے میں ذرا دیر لے رہا تھا، اس لیے کرسی کی پشت تھام کر پہلے پاؤں جما لیے۔ بچہ فوراً سہارا دینے آیا، میں نے اس کا ہاتھ لیا بھی، حالانکہ شاید خود اٹھ جاتا۔ تھوڑی دیر چلنے سے اکڑن کم ہوگئی۔ واپس آیا تو اہلیہ نے چائے رکھ دی تھی؛ پیالی دونوں ہاتھوں میں لے کر بیٹھنا اچھا لگا، گرمی ہتھیلیوں تک اترتی رہی۔ آنکھوں میں ہلکی نیند تھی اور انگلیوں پر مٹر کی بو۔ شام کے اتنے سے کام کے بعد آرام چاہیے تھا، مگر یہ تھکن مجھے بری نہیں لگی۔

সকালে বাবার সঙ্গে বাজারে হেঁটে গেলাম, ফেরার সময় তিনি পরিচিত একজনের সঙ্গে দাঁড়ালেন আর আমি খেয়াল করলাম কাঁধ দুটো বেশ হালকা লাগছে। ল্যাপটপের সামনে বসলে ঘাড়ের নিচে যে শক্ত ভাব থাকে সেটা হাঁটতে হাঁটতে কমে গিয়েছিল। মোটরসাইকেলে একই পথ গেলে সময় বাঁচে ঠিকই, কিন্তু গর্ত এড়াতে হ্যান্ডেল এমন চেপে ধরি যে পৌঁছেও আঙুল শক্ত থাকে। আজ শুধু কাপড়ের ব্যাগ হাতে, তাতে মাছ আর শাক, কোনও স্ক্রিন নেই। বাড়িতে এসে ভাত চাইলাম দেখে মা অবাক, সাধারণত সকালের খাবার নিয়ে আমাকে ডাকাডাকি করতে হয়। দুই কিলোমিটারের ফল এত দ্রুত পাওয়া যাবে ভাবিনি, যদিও বাবার মতে আমি শুধু বাজারের মিষ্টির দোকান দেখে ক্ষুধার্ত হয়েছি।

J'essaie de retrouver une basse qu'on jouait à mon premier bal de village, parce que je suis sûr qu'elle irait bien sous le morceau qu'on reprend avec la fanfare. Sauf que dans ma tête c'est nickel, et quand je la chante à notre trompettiste ça devient poum poum et un grand vide au milieu. Il m'a demandé si je me rappelais vraiment la musique ou juste les sandwichs. Les deux, monsieur. J'ai envoyé un vocal à mon ancien prof, avec les passages manquants assumés, et maintenant je me demande si c'était même ce morceau-là. J'aime bien ce problème, on peut passer une heure dessus sans devoir rédiger un rapport derrière.

Ma compagne m'a raconté un truc difficile de son service et j'ai fait une imitation de chef pour la faire rire. Elle a ri, puis elle a dit qu'elle voulait juste finir son histoire. Ça m'a vexé·e, pas fort mais assez pour devenir très appliqué·e à l'écoute, genre démonstration d'écoute avec garantie deux ans. Je m'entendais répondre oui, oui, et ça sonnait faux. Plus tard elle est venue s'asseoir contre moi sans reparler de l'histoire. J'étais soulagé·e, sauf que je savais toujours pas quoi dire sur ce qu'elle avait vécu. J'ai pas sorti de deuxième sketch. La première tournée avait suffi.

Forgot the biscuit in my bag, remembered it halfway through rehearsal when my stomach made a noise during an impressively quiet bit. Nobody reacted, which somehow made it worse. My fingers were cold at first and I kept pressing too hard on the strings, so by the break the tips felt oddly hot while the rest of my hands were still freezing. Ate the biscuit outside the hall. Mostly crumbs, obviously, but I stopped feeling so hollow and cross within a few minutes. I really can spend an hour analysing a town's services while failing to provide myself with one basic snack.

After the last trip I stood beside the bus and stretched against the door rail, my back did not want to straighten at once. Same small tight spot, lower down, then after walking to the carinderia it was less. My conductor says I walk like an old captain getting off a boat. He should see himself! We sat to eat this time, no hurry because the next driver had arrived, and I finished a full glass of water before the food came. Mouth was dry, I had been talking all afternoon. At home the stairs felt longer than usual but upstairs I could take off the uniform and move properly. Sat on the bed a while before changing, okay na.
